I overestimated what they would be able to reach a vacation.

So it's easier to save a local Whole Foods or a small grocery store, as well as finding a bag and enough food for a whole week. The only exception I would do is take a wholewheat bread for the duration of the trip. We found a less complicated and less expensive to stay in a room with a kitchen, especially when traveling with children.
